![]() The policy relates to all residences where Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) has authority. NFPA mandates that fire systems in “protected premises” must be tested at least once a year. AFP Systems adheres to all codes and regulations set forth and enforced regarding Fire Marshal requirements for Portland fire sprinkler system testing.Īccording to the City of Portland, “all fire-related sprinkler systems, standpipes, pumps, and private hydrants are inspected and/or tested per the schedules found in National Fire Protection Association Standard 25 (NFPA 25).” Fire Marshals assure that the testing and schedules are fulfilled for building structures. Fire Marshals also provide important fire and life safety education, must be knowledgeable about code mandates, and lead fire investigations. It’s part of a fire marshal’s job to test fire sprinkler systems to ensure that water-based emergency systems meet all mandatory requirements.
